- Seit Ende der 1980er-Jahre bin ich als Schlagzeuger in zahlreichen Bands aktiv und begeistere mich gleichermaßen für E-Bässe und Synthesizer. Seit dem Jahr 2000 arbeite ich als Composer.
- Meine musikalische Reise begann am Klavier und an der Orgel, führte über das Schlagzeug schließlich zum Bass. Live ist das Schlagzeug mein bevorzugtes Instrument.
- Für meine Kompositionen nutze ich unter anderem Propellerhead Reason und Logic Pro sowie verschiedene Synthesizer von Moog, Nord Lead, Access Virus und Korg, die bis heute einen festen Platz in meinem Studio haben.
- Synthesizer-Bässe, markante und fette Drumbeats und düstere Klanglandschaften prägen meinen charakteristischen Sound für Oberer Totpunkt.
- Musikalisch bin ich stark von 80er-New Wave, Wave und EBM sowie von 90er Industrial, Grunge und Metal beeinflusst.
- Zu meinen absoluten Lieblingsbands zählen Marilyn Manson, Rammstein, Nirvana, Metallica, The Sisters of Mercy, Devo, Oingo Boingo und die Dead Kennedys.
- Meine musikalischen Vorlieben reichen dabei weit über einzelne Genres und Jahrzehnte hinaus. 50s/60s: Elvis Presley und die Beatles. 70s: Pink Floyd, Queen, AC/DC, Led Zeppelin und Deep Purple. 80s: The B-52´s, Wall of Voodoo, Talking Heads, The Cure, Depeche Mode, DAF, Ideal. Yello. 90s: Das Ich, Project Pitchfork, Nitzer Ebb, Front 242, Skinny Puppy, Ministry, Alice in Chains, Queens of the Stone Age. 2000: Drum´n’Bass, Triphop, Mindless Self Indulgence – und natürlich OT!
- Auch als Schlagzeuger habe ich meinen ganz eigenen Stil entwickelt. Bekannt bin ich unter anderem für schnelle Grooves und blitzartige Fill-Ins, Staccato– und North-Drums aus den 1970er-Jahren sowie für mein Upside-Drumming. Since the late 1980s, I have been active as a drummer in numerous bands, while also developing a strong passion for electric bass and synthesizers. Since 2000, I have been working as a composer.
My musical journey began with piano and organ, eventually leading me to drums and later to bass. Live, however, drums remain my preferred instrument.
For my compositions, I use software such as Propellerhead Reason and Logic Pro, along with a range of synthesizers from Moog, Nord Lead, Access Virus and Korg, many of which still have a permanent place in my studio.
Synth basses, powerful and distinctive drumbeats, and dark soundscapes shape my characteristic sound for Oberer Totpunkt.
Musically, I am strongly influenced by 1980s New Wave, Wave and EBM, as well as 1990s Industrial, Grunge and Metal.
Among my absolute favorite bands are Marilyn Manson, Rammstein, Nirvana, Metallica, The Sisters of Mercy, Devo, Oingo Boingo and the Dead Kennedys.
My musical influences, however, extend far beyond individual genres and decades.

As a drummer, I have also developed a style of my own. I am known for fast grooves and lightning-fast fills, as well as for my use of 1970s-style staccato and North Drums and my approach to upside-down drumming. You can hear some of my drum solos, covers and sound recordings on my YouTube channel.
